DISPUTES
We support commercial arbitration and litigation and aim to resolve complex disputes swiftly and cost-effectively, based on pragmatic and commercial settlement strategies. We have particular experience of ad hoc and institutional arbitrations under various rules (incl. ICC, UNCITRAL, LCIA, LMAA) and cross-border commercial litigation, across a range of jurisdictions and sectors (incl. energy, construction, finance, company/commercial, international trade and shipping).
Project Execution
We provide support to project and contract teams on large offshore construction & engineering and shipping projects, in relation to contentious day-to-day issues arising during project execution phases: variation orders; cost overruns; liquidated damages; termination; indemnities; delay and disruption; defects; performance warranties; contract amendments; design issues; etc. From contract execution to completion, we advise on internal procedures and protocols and the efficient management and resolution of claims impacting on cost and scheduling.
LEGAL ASSETS INVESTMENT
Our team has spent a number of years advising US$ multi-billion hedge funds on legal assets investments regarding: non-recourse disputes financing (funding high value collective redress litigation across the UK and EU / investment treaty arbitrations / commercial litigation and international arbitration); and judgment/award financing. Our team has originated, diligenced, documented, and managed investments relating to some of the highest profile disputes in the UK and EU.
